Producer
Luke Chaplain is an entrepreneur, fourth generation grazier, rodeo champion and film producer.
Luke’s experience in the film industry started at The Australian Film & Television Academy. His film and television credits include horse stunts for ‘True History of the Kelly Gang'; actor for ‘Total Control’; and executive producer of ‘Little Addy’.
Creatively talented as well as business orientated, Luke successfully negotiated in 2020 the securing of Channel 10's 'Australian Survivor' to be shot in Cloncurry, while also jumping on as assistant director. As creative collaborator and producer of ‘The Bank Manager’, Luke was integral in securing funding for the short film as well as executing the regional shoot.
Born and raised on a cattle station in northwest Queensland, Luke is the Founder of SkyKelpie - a groundbreaking startup for livestock drone mustering. Supported by Meat & Livestock Australia and the Queensland Government, Luke’s ability to recognise opportunity and rally influential troupes is what makes him a successful entrepreneur and invaluable film producer.
Luke’s latest project, ‘The Hustlers’, is a feature documentary about Brisbane’s queer-inclusive rugby team. This is Luke’s directorial debut and his proudest work yet.
